Thornova Solar module receives Kiwa PVEL 2025 Top Performer award

June 09, 2025

Tangra N-Type TS-BGT Series Passes Five Critical Tests; Certified BOM Flexibility Expands Significantly Compared to Last Year.

Wuxi, 5 June 2025 – Thornova Solar is pleased to announce its products have performed strongly in Kiwa PVEL’s highly regarded 2025 PV Module Reliability Scorecard, securing a place among the notable performers in the annual evaluation.

Kiwa PVEL’s Scorecard provides a recognized benchmark for assessing photovoltaic module quality and long-term durability through its comprehensive Product Qualification Program (PQP), which includes demanding accelerated stress tests that extend beyond standard industry certifications.Thornova’s inclusion reflects its positive performance in this intensive assessment.

“These results underscore our commitment not only to providing customers with solutions built for consistent, long-term performance, but also to demonstrating that commitment through active participation and strong results in rigorous, independent testing programs like PVEL's PQP,” said William Sheng, CEO of Thornova Solar. “Having our Tangra N-Type series complete the core set of PVEL tests, and seeing both our Tangra and Zosma PERC lines demonstrate effective protection against hail impacts, supports our focus on delivering durable and reliable solar products.”

Evaluated against the heightened criteria of potential induced degradation (PID) testing – an enhanced Product Qualification Program (PQP) evaluation extending IEC/UL certification duration to 192 hours at 85°C/85% RH with ±1500V system voltage bias – the Thornova Solar Tangra N-type TS-BGT72(580) module proved its exceptional resistance to PID-triggered decay by showing only -0.8% average reduction of Pmax in PID post-stress measurements, surpassing the 2025 Scorecard's strict threshold for top performers (both <2% degradation).

In regard to ultraviolet induced degradation (UVID120) testing – a specialized evaluation by Kiwa PVEL that distinguishes UVID-sensitive from UV-stable modules beyond standard IEC/UL certification – the bifacial Thornova Solar Zosma PERC TS-BG72(550) module proved its outstanding UV stability by showing only -2.32% average reduction of Pmax in post-stress measurements.

The Thornova Solar modules passed the mechanical stress sequence (MSS) with a very good result of on average -0.94%, showing they can withstand heavy wind and snow loads.

The Thornova Solar module showed extremely low deviation of on average only -0.66% on the LETID stress tests, which take place at 75°C and take 486 hours at PVEL but only 162 hours for IEC 61215-2016 module certification.

In conclusion, the bifacial Thornova Solar module, clearly proves the high-quality material use and manufacturing process. The Top Performer award confirms the trust customers have in the Thornova Solar products.
